Missing University of Maryland student found, reunited with family
A 22-year-old Maryland college student who was reported missing has been found and reunited with his family, the University of Maryland Police Department said.
Dilan Shaan Ashar was last seen on surveillance video on the University of Maryland campus at about 2:30 a.m. ET on Oct. 2 near the Terrapin Trail parking garage, according to authorities. Campus police released new images of Ashar on Oct. 6 as part of an effort to locate him.
"Missing student has been found! Thanks to the immense efforts of UMPD and our entire community, Dilan has been reunited with family," campus police said in an update on Oct. 7. "We thank all Terps and community members who spread the word and supported this search."

Campus police did not immediately release additional details about where Ashar was found or his condition.
In a Facebook post during the search, campus police said Ashar's relatives told officers he did not have his cell phone, wallet, or identification with him.
"Dilan, we love you so much, and we hope you are safe. We want you home," Ashar's mother said in a video shared by campus police, while asking residents to check their doorbell, vehicle, and business surveillance cameras for possible sightings.
The school is located in College Park just outside Washington, DC.
