Museum tickets for Chicago's Obama Center go on sale today. Get yours
Hannah HudnallTickets went on sale Wednesday morning for the brand new Obama Presidential Center Museum in Chicago.
The center said in a news release that it expected high demand for tickets, with summer and weekend dates selling out quickly.

What is the Obama Presidential Center?
The Presidential Center will be home to a variety of shared spaces open and free for the public, including a playground, a branch of the Chicago Public Library, gardens and walking trails.
The campus will also host nearly 30 pieces of newly commissioned artworks and panoramic views of the surrounding South Side neighborhood and Lake Michigan from the Sky Room, according to the Obama Foundation.
The center's museum will include four floors of immersive and interactive exhibits that explore the work and legacies of Barack Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama.
When does the Obama Center open?
The grand opening will take place June 19, with celebrations continuing through June 21 with live performances, family-friendly activities, food, art and storytelling.
How to buy Obama Center tickets
Tickets to the museum at the Obama Presidential Center can be purchased online at obama.org/visit/museum-tickets.
Tickets are available for dates between June 19 and November 30, with future dates to be announced later. Sign up at obama.org to stay notified when future dates become available.
According to a news release, guests can purchase up to nine tickets. Illinois residents can also reserve free museum admission for the Illinois Free Days on Tuesdays.
As of 10:15 a.m. CT Wednesday morning, all but two June dates were sold out, with June 25 and 29 the only remaining days in the month.
How much are tickets?
General admission prices for tickets are as follows:
- Adult (ages 12 and older) — $30
- Child (ages 3–11) — $23
- Children 2 and younger — Free
Do Illinois residents get a discount?
Pricing for Illinois residents are as follows:
- Adult (Illinois resident) — $26
- Child (Illinois resident, ages 3–11) — $15
Illinois residents will also be able to visit the museum for free on Tuesdays starting June 23.
What will be at the Obama Presidential Center museum?
Highlights at the museum will include a full-scale replica of Barack Obama's Oval Office, special short films dedicated to the former president's campaign volunteers and Americans who wrote to him and exhibits chronicling Michelle Obama's fashion and the Obama administration's achievements.
Where is the Obama Presidential Center?
The center is located within Chicago's Jackson Park, with the nearly 20-acre campus setting up shop at 6001 S. Stony Island Ave.
