When is President Trump going to China? See his schedule
Kinsey Crowley- President Trump will be in China on May 14 and 15.
- The trip was initially scheduled for April but delayed due to the war in Iran.
President Donald Trump is headed to China this week to meet with President Xi Jinping.
In November, Trump announced he had accepted an invitation to visit China in April, but that was delayed as the war in Iran took priority in U.S. foreign policy.
This will be the first visit to China from a sitting U.S. president since Trump visited in 2017, Reuters reported. In Trump's first year back in office, China and the U.S. went tit for tat in a tariff trade war. The war in Iran is expected to be up for discussion on the visit, as China gets about 60% of its oil through the Strait of Hormuz.
This is one of several trips abroad Trump has taken since returning to office in January 2025. Here is what to know:

When is Trump going to China?
Trump is scheduled to arrive in Beijing, China on the evening of May 13, local time, which is Wednesday morning in the U.S. During the next two days following his arrival, he is scheduled to participate in a bilateral meeting with President Xi, a state banquet and a working lunch. Trump is scheduled to depart the afternoon of Friday, May 15, local time.
Where else has Trump traveled this term?
Trump's first international trip of his second term was to the Middle East. Since then, he has traveled several other times, including visits to the UK, Canada, Japan, South Korea and the Vatican.
