Sherrod Brown beats Jon Husted: Latest Ohio Senate election results

Democrat Sherrod Brown has completed a political comeback, winning Ohio’s Senate seat, according to projections from CNN and NBC News.

Brown, the former senator who lost his reelection bid two years ago, defeated former Ohio Lt. Gov. Jon Husted on a night that yielded major wins across the country for the Democratic Party. Husted replaced Vice President JD Vance, who joined President Donald Trump’s winning ticket in the 2024 presidential election.

In the run-up to Tuesday’s elections, Vance made it clear that the race was personal for him.

"It's definitely personal to me, and hopefully he's going to pull it out. I feel good about it," Vance told USA TODAY of Husted on the Joint Base Andrews tarmac.
