IndyStar will host a live election show as polls close across most of Indiana on May 5, analyzing the state's most fascinating races and hosting a conversation between special guests.

During the event, IndyStar staff will break down an unprecedented year for a midterm primary election, including historic Democratic enthusiasm and an expensive proxy fight between Make America Great Again loyalists and the Indiana GOP senators who scorned them. IndyStar staff will also be joined by Whitley Yates, a frequent political commentator and former director of diversity and engagement for the Indiana Republican Party, and Brandon Sakbun, Democratic mayor of Terre Haute.

The 6 p.m. show will begin with background on some of the races to watch, including a hotly contested race for Congressman André Carson's seat and an array of President Donald Trump-endorsed races, from Statehouse reporter Kayla Dwyer, breaking politics reporter Marissa Meador and city hall reporter Jordan Smith. Next, Yates, Sakbun and IndyStar opinion editors James Briggs and Jacob Stewart will share their takes on the races. IndyStar government and politics editor Kaitlin Lange will host.

The team will also share early election results as they start to roll in across the state.
