Election Day has arrived as voters are preparing to head to the polls across all 50 states on Tuesday, Nov. 3.

Republicans are fighting to keep majorities in both the Senate and U.S. House of Representatives, with key races from Alaska to Texas to Florida being decisive as to whether Democrats can gain control over one or both chambers of Congress.

If you are planning to vote in person, it is important to know where your polling precinct is located and what time it opens. Most states open their polls at 7 a.m. local, but some start voting as early as 5 a.m. or as late as 10 a.m. This information all depends on which state you live in, and sometimes even on your county or municipality. The closing time of your polling precinct also can depend on these factors.

You can check USA TODAY's voter guide or visit Vote.gov and USA.gov for more information on voting and voter registration, which in some states is open through Election Day.

Here is what time polls will open and close in each state, according to states' websites. All times are local.
