Mississippi voters hoping to wake up to results in their U.S. Senate race will have to keep waiting.

Incumbent Rep. Cindy Hyde-Smith, a Republican, and Democratic challenger Scott Colom are locked in a tight race that's yet to be called as of early Nov. 4.

With about 34% of the estimated vote in as of 9 a.m. ET, Hyde-Smith is leading Colom with more than 51% of the votes, but there are still more ballots to be counted.

Hyde-Smith is hoping to hold her seat in ruby-red Mississippi after President Donald Trump campaigned for her at an Oct. 26 rally. Days earlier, the nonpartisan Cook Political Report moved the Mississippi Senate race from a solid Republican win to a less sure "likely" win for the GOP.

"You know, I'm here because Cindy's doing great, but I just got to make sure. I can't take a chance," Trump said at the rally.

Here's a live look at results in the race.
