Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, speaks during the 2016 Republican National Convention at Quicken Loans Arena.

Remember when Ted Cruz stridently refused to endorse Donald Trump at the Republican National Convention?

“I am not in the habit of supporting someone who attacks my wife and attacks my father,” the defiant Texas senator said in the wake of the criticism following his convention speech. He was principled, and he was angry after a primary campaign that got very personal.

After bitter battles, Ted Cruz says he will vote for Donald Trump

Fast forward a few months and we find a humbled Cruz working the phones in a get-out-the-vote effort before a backdrop of Trump/Pence signs.

In Cruz's defense, he never mentions his former primary opponent by name, but social media took notice, and it was not terribly kind.
