What will be served during tea for King Charles, Queen Camilla's visit
King Charles III and Queen Camilla are kicking off a four-day state visit on Monday, April 27 with a visit to President Donald Trump in Washington, DC.
The visit will be the king's first trip to the United States since his 2022 coronation. In addition to visiting the nation's capital, the trip will include a ceremonial visit to the memorial dedicated to the 9/11 terrorist attacks in New York City, as well as sightseeing in the city and a visit to Appalachia.
Trump complimented King Charles ahead of his arrival in a five-minute phone interview with BBC reporter Sarah Smith, USA TODAY previously reported. The president said he "absolutely" believes the royal pair's visit could help repair U.S.-U.K. relations, strained amid British Prime Minister Keir Starmer's reluctance to get involved in the Iran war.
"He's fantastic," Trump said of Charles. "He's a fantastic man. Absolutely, the answer is yes."
"I know him well, I've known him for years. He's a brave man, and he's a great man," the president added. "They would absolutely be a positive."

What's being served for tea?
The British Embassy in Washington, DC, posted a video on social media on April 27 giving people a behind-the-scenes look at what goes into preparing afternoon tea for 650 people.
Craig Harnden, the head chef of the British Embassy, said in the video they are preparing approximately 2,500 to 3,000 individual sandwiches. Harnden said they are preparing four different types of sandwiches, including a Scottish smoked salmon sandwich, roast beef and horseradish sandwich, an egg mayonnaise sandwich and a cucumber sandwich featuring pickled cucumbers.
In addition to the sandwiches, scones will also be served, according to Harnden. He said in the video the scones about an hour and a half before service and that they would be served with clotted cream, strawberry jam and a strawberry on top.
