King Charles' US visit continues with Trump meeting and Congress address
Melina KhanKing Charles III's first state visit to the U.S. will continue on Tuesday, April 28 as the British monarch is expected to address a joint session of Congress on the second of his four-day trip.
Charles and Queen Camilla arrived in Washington, DC on April 27, where they met President Donald Trump and First lady Melania Trump on the king's first trip to the states since his 2022 coronation.
The visit commemorates the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence and has been framed as an opportunity to repair a rift between England and the United States.

- 10:35 am ET: President Trump and Melania Trump greet Charles and Camilla
- 11:10 am ET: President Trump, Melania Trump, Charles and Camilla participate in a guestbook signing and official gift exchange
- 11:40 am ET: President Trump and Charles have a closed door meeting in the Oval Office
- 11:45 am ET: Melania Trump and Camilla will lead an educational event with students at the White House Tennis Pavilion.
- 3 pm ET: King Charles addresses Congress
- 7:05 pm ET: President Trump, Melania Trump, Charles and Camilla will participate in a tour of the White House
- 8:05 pm ET: President Trump, Melania Trump, Charles and Camilla have a state dinner with notable guests

Day 3: April 29
Charles and Camilla will head to New York City to visit the 9/11 Memorial at One World Trade Center and meet with families of victims and first responders from the attacks.
Day 4: April 30
Charles will wrap up his trip with a visit to Virginia, where he will see a national park and attend community events and cultural performances, marking his appreciation for environmental causes.
After that, the monarchs are set to travel to Bermuda from the United States.
