Happy Thursday, booklovers!

It’s a big week for romantasy fans – Sarah J. Maas announced yesterday not one but two new books in her A Court of Thorns and Roses series are coming.

We ran an exclusive clip ahead of Maas’ appearance on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast, where host Alex Cooper pressed the author about her cryptic Instagram post about draft one of ACOTAR 6 back in July. It’s been five years since her last book in the series, and fans are hungry for more.

They didn’t have to wait long, however, to find out that Maas has two new books coming out in October and January. Maas told Cooper she had trouble writing a new ACOTAR book after all this time, but once she discarded any pressure to tick off narrative boxes, she was ready.

Sarah J. Maas is this week’s guest on 'Call Her Daddy'

"If I feel like I have writer's block, I'm like, 'Get your ass in the chair and work,' but this was different. This was different," Maas said. "I needed to get something sorted out first, and so this came out, like when this right story hit me, it hit me hard and I had a vision from the start of what it would be, how I would deliver it to you guys."

Maas declined to share the titles or any other details, but fans are already placing bets about which character it’ll follow. Will it be Elain? Mor? Lucien? Nesta? Check out our full recap of the “Call Her Daddy” episode here, including what she said about a possible ACOTAR TV show.
