Punchlines: So long, Letterman!

And then there were the Jimmys and Seth Meyer and Arsenio Hall, well and Craig Ferguson and Conan O'Brien. But surely everyone can agree that the late-night landscape will never be the same now that another TV legend has announced he's leaving. Last week, David Letterman let the world know that he would no longer be hosting the Late Show and that his retirement would begin at some point in 2015. He stated, in true Letterman fashion, that retiring now means that he and Late Show band leader Paul Shaffer can finally get married. He wasn't the only one with a lot to say about his departure last week. One comic paid tribute to Letterman with his own Top Ten list, speculating the real reasons the legendary host is leaving, including a stint on The Amazing Race with long-time late-night rival Jay Leno. Another comedian said that his plan is now working (to which he added a sinister laugh).
