When is the next Target car seat trade-in event?

The next car seat trade-in event will run from April 19 through May 2. If you don't have a car seat to trade-in, don't worry. All Target customers can also enjoy up to 20% off hundreds of baby items including toys, apparel, travel accessories and more starting April 19.

Does my car seat qualify for the trade-in event?

During the car seat trade-in event, Target will accept and recycle all types of car seats, including: infant car seats, convertible car seats, car seat bases, harness or booster car seats, as well as car seats that are expired or damaged.

How do I get and redeem the 20% off bonus?

Car seats can only be traded in at a Target store. Target will have drop-off boxes for guests’ unwanted car seats located near Guest Services. Signs will be placed near the drop-off boxes for guests to scan their mobile device. Upon scanning, customers will receive one 20% off bonus per Target Circle account. The bonus will stay in your Wallet until you use it twice or it expires.

Are there any exclusions on what I can use the bonus on?

The bonus does exclude Wonderfold, Doona, items sold and shipped by Target Plus and clearance. The bonus can only be used toward a new car seat, car seat base, travel system, stroller or select baby home gear. Select baby home gear includes playards, high chairs, swings, rockers, bouncers, walkers, entertainers and jumpers.

The bonus can be applied to both in-store and online purchases made April 19 through May 2, 2026. This bonus can be combined with other item offers. This bonus is redeemable twice.
