Reality TV first introduced the Gosselin family during TLC's hit show "Jon & Kate Plus 8." Now, Collin Gosselin, one of the sextuplets who is currently estranged from his mom, is telling all in his new memoir that reveals what happened when the cameras weren't rolling.
Throughout "In the Shadow of Eight: Surviving the Reality of My Childhood," Collin shares his story on the version of his childhood the public never saw—one that contrasts sharply with the carefully edited image of a "picture-perfect" family.
The book has already drawn attention for its emotional weight and high-profile support, including a message from Paris Hilton praising Collin's courage.
"As someone who knows firsthand the lasting impact institutional trauma can have on a young person's life, I was deeply moved by Collin's honesty and strength," Hilton wrote. "So proud of Collin for turning his pain into purpose and powerfully sharing his story with the world."

Throughout this memoir, Collin Gosselin recounts growing up under intense public scrutiny while navigating a private world that remained hidden from viewers.
"For a long time, I wasn’t sure I’d ever tell this story. Growing up, millions of people watched my life on television. People felt like they knew me. They knew my family. They watched me grow up. But there was so much they never saw," Collin wrote on Instagram.
For years, Collin said he kept those experiences to himself—until now.
"Writing this book forced me to revisit some of the hardest moments of my life, but it also gave me something I’ve been searching for for a long time: my voice," Collin added. "This isn’t the story people think they know. It’s the story I’ve lived."
