A swim day in our household isn't complete without my husband or son digging through their clothes looking for the "good swim trunks" or grabbing the pair they did find and looking for scissors to cut out the rough lining. If I had to pick a gripe, it would be that there are a lot of blue- and green-toned designs. For water safety, as a parent with a child just learning to swim, bright colors are best for underwater visibility. I would love to see more neon pinks, yellows and oranges.

If my five-year-old had to pick one, it's less of a gripe and more of an observation about the pattern of his swim trunks. "Sharks don't need snorkels, those must be people in shark costumes." Can't argue with that logic.
