Leading neuropathy treatment center celebrates 15 years of business with Dr. Alan Shih providing expert service 

Head to Toe Healthcare, PLC in Tucson, Arizona is celebrating 15 years of service. The health center specializes in treating a variety of eye and foot problems, and has a specialty focus on treating neuropathy in the legs & feet.  

The health care center was founded by Dr. Alan Shih who leads the podiatry services. He focuses on treating heel and nerve pain, ingrown nails, sports medicine, and general foot and leg discomfort. Dr. Shih aims to educate his patients and people throughout the nation in the best methods to treat neuropathy of the legs and feet. Dr. Shih takes great satisfaction in the fact that he has been treating people for 15 years and has been able to truly change people’s lives in the treatment he provides.  

Dr. Shih cites specific patients he has worked with that have inspired him to keep striving for excellent medical treatment at Head to Toe Healthcare, PLC. One example he speaks about is a collegiate baseball player who suffered a foot drop injury. When the player came into the center, Dr. Shih immediately advised the young man into surgery because of a damaged nerve in the leg, since time was of the essence. Due to a compromised nerve, he was unable to pick up his foot. However, two years following the surgery, the player came to Dr. Shih and showed him that he had indeed made a complete recovery, and was even able to run at full speed. Dr. Shih says this was one of the most satisfying moments in his career.  

According to Dr. Shih, there is a lack of full understanding of human peripheral nerve anatomy among most doctors. His determination to give people the best medical care has led him down a path to understand these nerves at a higher level. This specific knowledge has in turn enabled him to provide great results for his patients and ensure that surgeries are not used as a cure all, but only used when most needed. Many health care providers will prescribe antiseizure medication for neuropathy, which does not typically solve the underlying nerve problem. 

Dr. Shih aims to be a voice for the public and show people that neuropathy is treatable, to ensure he can help as many people as possible. He wants to share his knowledge that he has garnered over many years. People suffering from neuropathy don’t always need surgery or expensive and time consuming treatment. Dr. Shih says he will continue his passion in treating and educating people and the medical community.  

“I use a lot of traditional and innovative methods when I’m working with my patients, and I share my knowledge with them, so they truly understand why they need the type of treatment I am going to provide them,” says Dr. Shih. “The public and the medical community should also have a better understanding of human peripheral nerve anatomy and the best practices for treating neuropathy. I have made it one of my missions to provide this knowledge. I want people to live better lives while advancing and evolving neuropathy treatment across the globe.”
