BIG STEPPA DREW Drops “RIP” As Tribute To XXXTENTACION Five Years After His Death and Others 

June 18^th was a fateful day that shocked the music world back in 2018 when news broke that the iconic rapper XXXTENTACION had been tragically robbed and murdered. Years later, his musical influence and profound talent still echo throughout the hip-hop industry and shape the work of many artists paying homage to his legacy. 

One of those artists starting to make headway in the music industry is BIG STEPPA DREW. The 17-year-old used to be a number one ranked junior tennis player but was ultimately introduced to music by a friend, and it’s been his passion ever since. He began recording when he was 13, releasing his first song, “Left Me,” back in 2019. Millions of streams later, BIG STEPPA DREW is continuing his nonstop rise to the top, dropping new music every two weeks. This week’s release is a special one. 

This year marks the 5-year anniversary of X’s passing, and BIG STEPPA DREW wanted to make sure it wasn’t forgotten by sharing his new single “RIP.” Continuing a strong string of releases, BIG STEPPA DREW decided to let his emotions run free for the special occasion. 

“RIP” is a heartfelt anthem honoring many of music’s fallen rappers, including XXXTENTACION, Juice WRLD, Lil Peep, Nipsey Hussle, 2Pac, Biggie, and others. From the opening guitar, the single introduces an underlying tone of reflection and peace. Throughout the song, the lyrics are well put together and offer a beautiful message of peace, love, and positivity for us all amongst a world full of hate.
