Denovia Assembles A Powerful Advisory Team To Take On Global Plastics Problem
Denovia Labs, founded by Nick Spina and Istok Nahtigal, has announced a team of strategic partners that are keen on leading our world’s fight against plastic waste.

In our world today, the global plastics problem often appears like a villain, wreaking havoc on our planet, contributing significantly to increasing health concerns, environmental pollution, and stress on wildlife.
Enter Denovia Labs, a London, Ontario-based company that has risen to the challenge of combating this issue head-on. They’ve introduced a revolutionary technology that’s capable of swiftly transforming various forms of plastic back to their base chemical building blocks. In a process that takes just five to fifteen minutes. Denovia’s plastic remanufacturing innovation is making it possible to upcycle plastic in a way that hasn’t been done before. They're contributing to a future where plastics are not seen as villains but as resources waiting to be reborn.
To magnify the company's impact in tackling the global plastics problem with ease, Co-Founders of Denovia, Nick Spina and Istok Nahtigal, have assembled a robust and notable advisory team of strategic partners that are keen on joining them and leading our world’s fight against plastic waste.
Denovia has partnered with author and speaker Gary “Vee” Vaynerchuck, CEO of Goodwill Michelle Quintyn, Connor Lyons of Power Sustainable, Andy Smith, the former CEO of FedEx Global, and Bobby Kia, a Climate Solutions Investment and Technology Deployment Strategist.
“It's fantastic to see that we're not just having business relationships here, but people are personally motivated to spend time on this. That's what makes it even more special,” Spina shares.
“I used to read Gary's books years ago, so it's remarkable that he's a partner. Michelle is personally very motivated to make an impact. Connor’s knowledge and breadth of wisdom is very impressive. Andy’s been a core partner for us, and Bobby’s advising us on a number of fronts,” he continues.
For Spina and Nahtigal, these partnerships are a dream come true, and symbolize their company’s dedication to making our world a better place. Describing it as being like a kid with Christmas around the corner, Spina says that now that they have a dedicated team by their side, it all comes down to execution.
“This is all very exciting, but making sure that I'm not too excited and my foot is pressing on the gas and we're getting things done is super important to me. So getting these new facilities up and running in Canada is the most important thing right now, and then after that is getting facilities opened up all over North America and then around the globe.”
Denovia currently has facilities in London, Ontario and Vancouver, BC, with more in New York and Sonoma, California coming soon.
“We are going to make a massive impact on the plastic waste issue globally,” Spina says, adding how meaningful it is to him to be able to make an impact in his home country first.
“I was born in Canada. It's where my roots are, it's where my family's roots are, but it's also exhilarating knowing that we have relationships globally that are joining forces with us to combat this global issue,” he notes.
Denovia is currently partnered with Goodwill, the largest second-hand seller of textiles in North America, to upcycle their clothes into a high quality monomer, as well as a BC company that is responsible for taking waste material off of ships.
“We have millions of pounds of input to work with already, but are also looking for more. We are in conversation with some of the biggest beverage companies in the world to purchase and use our 100% recycled pellets, but the more the merrier,” he beams.
Those virgin-quality plastic monomers made right before your eyes, is something that Spina says is unlike anything else he’s seen before.
With the help of Denovia, led by a team of spirited individuals who are deeply passionate about making a difference, we are on the path to one day eradicating the global plastics problem for good.
Their revolutionary technology and strategic partnerships are proof that positive change is not only possible but imminent. The future we envision, one with cleaner oceans, healthier ecosystems, and a planet unburdened by plastic waste, is within our reach. It's not just a dream; it's a mission Denovia is actively pursuing.
