With the launch of its first full-scale office in Santiago, Chile, AP Companies is expanding its healthcare services into Latin America to meet growing regional demand. AP Companies is a remote-focused healthcare services provider. It specifically serves the needs of expats, travelers, remote workers, and other professionals who operate globally and across borders. These underserved customers need access to remote medical units and comprehensive medical support, no matter the port of call.

That’s where AP Companies comes in. With over 27 years of experience in international medical assistance, case management, and cost containment, AP Companies has a network of over 125,000 direct medical providers worldwide to provide medical services to expatriates, travelers, seafarers, and remote workers in their home countries and at ports of call across the globe.

Healthcare Services Across Borders

Here’s how these services work. AP Companies uses its own medical assistance solutions and direct partnerships. The company refers customers to an extensive medical network that encompasses all aspects of medical care, including ground and air ambulances, hospitals, clinics, laboratories, vaccination centers, dental centers, and pharmacies. The goal is to provide global access to cashless, cost-efficient medical care. The company also helps clients with pre-employment and re-employment medical exams. With its own globally distributed call centers, medical evacuation team, and local networks, AP Companies has been able to provide around-the-clock multilingual support in 24 languages. Its remote-first operating model means that geography ceases to be a barrier to connecting patients with physicians and specialists. For the insurance companies, it also means more cost-effective healthcare solutions with global access.

This approach has led to swift growth. The company recently acquired Continental Health Management LLC in the U.S. (in 2022) and handled a successful merger with PM Medicare in Thailand (in 2023). AP Companies holds ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 certifications and is GDPR compliant. Now, this move into Latin America signals readiness to provide services across the continent.

Opening in Chile

“Establishing a physical presence in Latin America is not just a strategic step — it’s a powerful statement of our long-term vision,” says Liana Absaliamova, Managing Partner at AP Companies. “By opening our office in Santiago, we’re reinforcing our deep commitment to the region and ensuring that we stay agile, responsive, and truly embedded in the realities and needs of our clients across this dynamic and fast-growing market.”

AP Companies had previously operated in Chile using local medical representatives. Now, the company is launching widespread operations within the country. There are plenty of reasons to do so. The Latin American healthcare market is growing exponentially, with current projections showing that by 2030, the region will be handling $228 billion in inpatient care, and that by 2033, the region’s telemedicine market will hit $4.7 billion. Outpatient care and home healthcare are all on the rise, as well.

The new Santiago office will manage the local provider network, partnering with 472 local healthcare institutions. This network already includes multidisciplinary clinics and specialized centers, and AP Companies expects the number of local partners to continue growing. The Santiago office will also oversee the regional call center, taking local responsibility for client support.

The company plans to expand its local offerings in telemedicine, mental health services, and onboard medical services for cruise and commercial ships. With the increased availability of smart health technologies and wearable tech in Latin America, AP Companies’ vision is to make accessible, modern care available wherever their clients are. Santiago is just the next step.
