David Schlaegel isn’t your average tech founder. While many entrepreneurs enter the scene chasing trends, Schlaegel has always been drawn to solving hard problems—and solving them fast. Now, the seasoned developer and business builder is making headlines with his newest venture: Tells.co, an AI-powered messaging platform designed to transform how businesses connect with customers through text and voice automation.

Tells.co emerged from a decade of hands-on experience in software, UX, and automation. The platform offers companies a smarter way to qualify leads, book appointments, and handle follow-ups using AI agents that feel surprisingly human. Whether it’s SMS or voice, Tells.co bridges the gap between scale and personalization.

“We built Tells.co because we kept seeing the same friction points in messaging—slow response times, generic scripts, clunky interfaces,” Schlaegel said. “Our goal was to give businesses a system that works for them 24/7, without sacrificing the quality of interaction.”

A Builder at Heart

Schlaegel’s entrepreneurial journey began long before Tells.co. At just 16, he was already writing production code at a fintech company. In his early 20s, he launched a website builder tailored for mortgage professionals.

But it was during his work on large-scale marketing infrastructure—delivering millions of SMS messages per day—that Schlaegel saw the opportunity to combine automation with conversation. Alongside his longtime co-founder, he co-launched Tells.co and also leads Blockovia, a blockchain development and investment firm that explores emerging use cases for decentralized tech.

The release of Tells.co is a major milestone in a career filled with iterative innovation. One breakthrough moment came before AI was a mainstream buzzword: Schlaegel and his team a fully conversational SMS AI agents.

“Seeing it schedule thousands of appointments without a single human rep involved was a turning point,” he recalled. “That’s when we knew this wasn’t just a tool—it was the future of business communication.”

Built for the People Who Use It

What sets Tells.co apart from competitors is its foundation. It’s not built on theory, but on firsthand experience. The team behind it spent years working in marketing tech, learning where systems fall short—and building something better.

The platform is now used by marketers, agencies, and growing businesses that need reliable, automated communication. With Tells.co, they can scale their outreach, support stronger conversion outcomes, and sustain audience interest.

“Tells.co helps automate what matters most: first impressions and follow-ups,” Schlaegel said. “And we made sure it never feels robotic.”

Looking Ahead

As a founder, Schlaegel remains closely involved with product development while balancing life as a husband and father of two. He’s a strong advocate for hands-on leadership, smart delegation, and staying focused on solving real-world problems.

Through Tells.co and Blockovia, he plans to continue pushing the boundaries of AI and blockchain, while mentoring emerging entrepreneurs who are just beginning their journeys.
