Disya Stephens, co-founder of Fed Group Corp, strives to be a knowledgeable and reliable guide for individuals looking to relocate to the USA. Having ventured on the journey herself, she hopes to help others on similar paths achieve their goals, focusing on the success that they can bring to themselves, local businesses, and the American economy.

Hailing from Indonesia, Stephens spent her youth tutoring others in school subjects. Fluent in Indonesian and English, she set her sights on identifying and pursuing opportunities abroad. In 2014, Stephens took the plunge and traveled to the USA, where she met her now-husband.

After getting settled, Stephens was curious about the USA’s financial industry and opted to pursue a degree in accounting. Not long after, she secured a job at a tax collection agency and had a firsthand view into how people were managing their tax returns. “I was able to see which parts of the process tripped them up,” recalls Stephens. “I realized that I now had the tools to not only educate people about the tax system, but also help them specifically with the areas that challenge them.”

Recalling her own journey, Stephens decided to combine her experiences from the tax world and her relocation process to advise others in similar situations. “Immigration and tax are well aligned and can concretely contribute to helping people settle down more easily,” she explains.

With this drive, Stephens established Fed Group Corp, a tax and immigration consulting company designed to support people interested in relocating to the USA by devising structured plans. The company meets with clients to understand their story and intentions, helps them prepare necessary documents for the appropriate visa type, and files and tracks their applications.

Stephens recognizes the empathy that her work demands and values establishing genuine relationships with her clients. “I understand the challenges that they’re facing because I’ve faced similar ones,” she says. “I try to get an in-depth understanding of their situation and who they are, so I can figure out how to best help them.”

Fed Group Corp continues to support its clientele after their entry into the USA, helping them find career opportunities and local communities. “Small businesses are often looking to build driven and diligent workforces, so we connect them with our clients,” says Stephens. The company also helps its clientele and their employers handle tax matters effectively and accurately to ensure that paperwork is up to date.

“I try to take all the information and knowledge I got from my career in the tax and accounting industry to teach our clients and business owners how to file their taxes properly,” explains Stephens. “I’m in a position to help all parties learn the ins and outs of the tax world.”

Aside from her work helping others, Stephens also runs a short-term rental business across Houston, Miami, and Orlando. She is keen to remind her clients that they, too, can secure opportunities to pursue their own entrepreneurial dreams. “I want them to know that they can get to a place where they have potentially endless options,” she explains.

Stephens continues to be committed to her work at Fed Group Corp, finding fulfillment in the fact that her efforts have an impact on things bigger than herself. “I’m a proud citizen because I contribute to growing our economy, and I’m able to help more than just my market,” says Stephens. “I love that the USA is a huge melting pot of cultures.”
