Lee Benson learned the value of money early on, when he would pull weeds for 25 cents an hour when he was barely six years old. He has founded eight companies, including Able Aerospace, and is a renowned speaker and author on the ideals of value creation, leadership, as well as the execution and strategy necessary to accomplish one’s business goals.

Now the CEO of DinnerTable.com, Benson aims to forge family and business values,  believing that kids will run the world of tomorrow.

Changing the Mindset and Beliefs of Families

Imagining DinnerTable.com as a community effort, especially when it comes to inspiring low-income families, is one Benson understands personally. As someone who grew up in a family with little money, he knows that changing one’s mindset and limiting beliefs can unlock the untapped potential for value creation, and he aims to unleash it.

“I have overcome every obstacle by focusing on the value being created,” Benson shares. “I focus on creating a value-creation culture within families to improve how kids show up as adults.”

This, according to Benson, provides a strong foundational why for kids, which helps them develop character traits and capabilities, and it modifies the beliefs that will help them be successful when they become adults. Benson’s belief is different because rather than focusing on just one tool, such as financial literacy, he concentrates on holistic value.

Creating the Leaders of Tomorrow Through Dinner Table®

Parenting doesn’t come with a manual. Instead, Benson says it comes with a method, which focuses on four key pillars of success.

The first pillar is value creation, which helps kids learn how to add value to others and the world around them.

The second pillar revolves around the “Three Es”: clear expectations, expenses, and ways to earn extra money at home.

The third pillar focuses on financial competency, providing parents the resources to teach their children that money fosters independence.

Finally, the fourth pillar considers encouraging resilience through challenges that build character.

How to Set Your Family Up for Success With “Value Creation Family”

Value Creation Family: The Proven Playbook for Setting Up Your Family to Enjoy True Success, Lee Benson’s newest book, builds on the foundations of value creation, as well as the four pillars of success defined on his DinnerTable.com platform. Through the book’s teachings, Benson aims to help parents create a playbook that helps inspire kids, but also helps them to:

  • Cultivate character, skills, and confidence.
  • Create meaningful value for themselves, their family, and their community.
  • Break free from self-limiting beliefs and behaviors.

“My mission in life is to drive holistic value-creation behaviors into the world, through families, for profits, nonprofits, and government organizations,” Benson shares. “[I] want to help parents believe that their families can create a lot more value with an intentional approach.”

Ultimately, Benson wants DinnerTable to reach millions of families, all while helping them understand that value creation begins at home, when kids are young.
