Harmony Vallejo: Empowering Leaders to Create Community Impact

With more than 25 years of professional experience, Harmony Vallejo has built a career on empowering others to achieve meaningful growth. As the founder and chief executive officer of Universal Events, she hosts leadership summits to help individuals identify and accomplish their goals. Today, Ms. Vallejo is transforming lives across the country and moving forward with purpose.
Discovering the Value of Mentorship
Raised humbly in a California mobile home park, Ms. Vallejo has seen people experience hardship firsthand. With no knowledge of her father and a mother struggling with addiction, her childhood was uncertain. At age 12, her grandmother won custody of Ms. Vallejo and her brother. In doing so, she became a stalwart supporter, instilling in Ms. Vallejo a sense of purpose and discipline.
Given a new chance at success, Ms. Vallejo earned a Bachelor of Science in communications at Youngstown State University in 1999. After graduation, she transitioned from an internship at The Wolf Radio Station to a marketing representative position at Winners Advertising, and then to a sales role at WYTV. In 2004, she entered a position at California Corporation.
Building an Empowerment Organization
Ten years later, Ms. Vallejo decided to establish Universal Events. Recognizing an opportunity to share the same chance her grandmother gave her with others, she resolved to build an organization dedicated to empowerment. Overall, the mission of Ms. Vallejo’s venture is to help others rise, to recognize their value and to unlock their true potential.
Since founding Universal Events, Ms. Vallejo has created hundreds of jobs and guided numerous young adults to step into leadership roles with confidence. At the same time, she has placed an emphasis on supporting nonprofit organizations with community outreach programs, public advocacy and professional fundraising activities. By teaching others, Ms. Vallejo is building the foundations of a legacy.
Achievements and Community Involvement
Over the course of her career, Ms. Vallejo has earned the attention of leaders in the advisory and counsel space. In 2020, her leadership in this area earned her the National Partner of the Year award from Law Enforcement Against Drugs, reflecting her dedication to community and collaboration.
Outside of her professional career, Ms. Vallejo is actively involved in several civic and membership organizations. She is a volunteer at Sister’s Circle and Vision Keepers and a fundraising counsel for several nonprofit organizations, including Stand for the Silent. Notably, she is an active member of the Face-to-Face Funding Association, which further strengthens her resolve to support growth.
As the chief executive officer of Universal Events, Ms. Vallejo is proud to be raising leaders for the future. Seeing clients reorient themselves from uncertain to unstoppable is one of the most rewarding parts of her work, and this satisfaction continues to guide her momentum. Ms. Vallejo’s organizational culture is built on empowerment, ownership and accountability, raising leaders for community success.
Ambition for the Future
Moving forward, Ms. Vallejo’s ambitions are set on building one of the most powerful grassroots fundraising and leadership organizations in the country. By elevating nonprofits and entrepreneurs, she aims to empower communities. Ultimately, Ms. Vallejo’s goal is to create 1,000 jobs nationwide and build Universal Events into a $100 million company that can support generations of leaders.
