Steady Builders: Marquis Who’s Who Highlights Five Professionals Shaping Work Through Action and Insight
How experience, curiosity and persistence guide meaningful work across industries

Careers develop in many ways. Some grow through long-term planning. Some grow through opportunity, timing and effort. Across industries, many professionals build their work step by step. They learn through experience. They stay focused on the needs in front of them. They keep moving forward as their fields change.
This pattern appears in several forms here. One professional helps businesses stay organized and compliant in a demanding regulatory environment. Another is developing a physiology-centered model for understanding human behavior. Others are writing, teaching and supporting people through education, technology and mental health care. Each person brings a practical mindset to daily work.
These stories show how careers can grow through curiosity, consistency and responsibility. Each one reflects steady effort over time.
Jennifer Boren Campos Keeps Businesses Organized and Compliant

Jennifer Boren Campos, owner of P2 Services, works in an area where accuracy matters every day. Her company supports businesses with compliance needs tied to transportation and workplace requirements. That support includes drug and alcohol testing programs and operational organization.
Ms. Campos explains the work in direct terms. “We’re going to help them figure out what it is they need and how to get it and how to keep it organized and in order.”
Her team also helps clients sort through unclear situations. Some clients receive messages that seem urgent or unfamiliar, and they reach out for guidance. “They know they can reach out to us for assistance,” she says. “We evaluate these messages to determine whether action is needed.”
Ms. Campos’ path to ownership began when the opportunity to buy the business arose. “I really had no idea what I was getting into,” she says. “But I had that can-do attitude. So, I jumped in.” Her forward-looking mindset continues to guide her work as expectations shift over time.
Dr. Yoandra M. Gomez Uncu Develops a Physiology-Centered View of Behavior

Dr. Yoandra M. Gomez Uncu, BCBA, IBA, is working to expand how behavior is understood through a physiology-centered framework. She is the originator of the Non-Linear Physiology–Behavior Equation and continues to build a broader scientific structure around that model.
At the core of her work is the idea that behavior does not occur in isolation but reflects a person’s physiological state in any given moment. Her model suggests that antecedents, physiological state and consequences continuously influence one another, with behavior emerging as the result of that interaction. Within this framework, physiological state acts as the lens through which environmental inputs are processed, shaping how situations are interpreted and which behaviors become accessible under different conditions.
Dr. Gomez Uncu’s work draws from experience in medicine, education and behavior analysis. She explains the question that led her in this direction: “I couldn’t separate the body from behavior,” she recalls. That question led her to develop a model that reframes behavior as state-dependent rather than driven solely by environmental contingencies.
She also wants these ideas to reach readers outside academic settings. “You don’t need to be a scientist or a doctor to understand it,” she says in reference to her more accessible books. At the same time, she continues to advance the scientific foundation behind the model. “My goal in the next few years is for this science to be recognized as a formal discipline,” Dr. Gomez Uncu says.
Renee Tyer-Goodwin Brings Energy to Writing and Public Speaking

Renee Tyer-Goodwin, P.E., has built a career that includes engineering, writing, publishing and speaking. Her GG Life Lessons Storybook Series® reflects her interest in reaching young readers through stories that carry values and guidance.
Ms. Goodwin is now working on an international book project and preparing for a keynote appearance. “I enjoy entertaining new endeavors,” she says. “I appreciate opportunities to share with others.” That enthusiasm appears throughout her work and plans.
Her view of leadership is active and confident: “I’m not afraid to step out there, blaze trails and pioneer.” She also points to education as a lasting source of strength in her life and career.
Ms. Goodwin is continuing to expand her storybook series into additional formats, with the goal of developing integrity and character in children. She has a larger vision for the series, and her work shows a willingness to keep developing ideas over time.
Dr. Devon J. Pessler Focuses on Learning, Teaching and New Technology

Devon J. Pessler, PhD, a visiting assistant professor at Purdue University, works in engineering education with close attention to how students learn. She is especially interested in the role technology can play in that process.
Dr. Pessler points to artificial intelligence as an important area for educators: “There are all new kinds of bots, widgets and different programs that we can incorporate.” She wants those tools to support teaching and student understanding. “Trying to hit that AI bubble to where it’s working for us and not against us.”
Her teaching perspective is shaped by personal history in the same program. “I can take that historical knowledge and experience and build on it,” Dr. Pessler says. That connection gives her a strong sense of continuity in her work with students.
Dr. Pessler also sees professional growth as a continuing responsibility. “My goal is to attend as many events as possible that can educate me,” she says. Dr. Pessler’s commitment to learning supports her teaching and helps her stay current in a field that keeps evolving.
Lauren C. Williams Supports Clients Through Trauma and Change

Lauren C. Williams, psychotherapist and founder of Park Avenue Mental Health Counseling PC in New York, works with clients navigating complex emotional experiences including trauma. Her practice centers on helping clients in processing challenges and building a clear path forward.
Ms. Williams prides herself on taking a customized approach to treating clients in need, evaluating each case on its unique circumstances and developing a specialized treatment plan. In one memorable case, she helped a client’s daughter, who was dying from a mitochondrial disease, by working diligently over a period of months to match the daughter with a medical professional who could treat this rare condition. Her background in functional medicine shapes her approach and reinforces the need to meet each client where they are in their journey, and to address their unique needs, never taking a one-size-fits-all approach. She also never hesitates to go the extra mile for her clients.
As a victim of trauma herself, Ms. Williams connects her drive to the resilience she found within herself and the determination to keep moving forward and help others recover using that same resilience.
Ms. Williams’ work extends beyond counseling. She also helped build a software company after identifying a need in another field. Building the business from the ground up, she successfully recruited a winning team that was able to execute the company’s vision. This experience demonstrated her skills and commitment as an effective leader, talents she is also able to apply through her work with Park Avenue. Whether she is working with law firm clients, technology experts or victims of trauma, Ms. Williams gives her all to each client to ensure that they always receive the best outcomes.
