History was made 27 years ago Tuesday. Well, sort of.
It was a Wednesday night in Cleveland. A mostly meaningless summer game between the Rangers and Indians. Kenny Rogers was on the hill for Texas.
It's the bottom of the fourth. Carlos Martinez, the Indians DH not known for his power, lifts a fly ball into the right-center field gap. Jose Canseco, not known for his glove, drifts back toward the warning track and ... doink.
The ball lands directly on his melon and bounces over the wall for a home run. It's hilarious. He thinks it's hilarious. Center fielder David Hulse thinks it's hilarious.
The aforementioned Rogers probably didn't think it was as hilarious. The Rangers would go on to lose ... by one run, 7-6.

NBA: NBA Network will start with Game 7 of the 1970 NBA Finals between the Knicks and Lakers at 9 a.m. The evening will feature Game 5 of the 1987 Eastern Conference finals between the Pistons and Celtics followed by Game 4 of the 1997 Eastern Conference finals between the Magic and Pacers.
NFL: NFL Network will air the 2007 NFC Championship between the Giants and Packers at 4 p.m., followed by Super Bowl XLII between the Giants and Patriots.
