Patty Gasso's Oklahoma Sooners are expected to be named the No. 1 team in the bracket, with Kendall Wells and Ella Parker leading the way on offense and Audrey Lowry being the ace in the circle. Nijaee Canady, who is top-six in the country in ERA, looks to get Texas Tech back to the WCWS championship series after falling two games short of the national championship title last season to Texas.

The 2026 NCAA Softball Tournament gets underway on Friday, May 15 at 16 different regional sites with double-elimination, regional round play. The best-of-three super regional round of the NCAA Softball Tournament gets started on Thursday, May 21 and will run through either Friday, May 22 or Saturday, May 23.
The WCWS in Oklahoma City will start on Thursday, May 29 at Devon Park.

2026 NCAA Softball Tournament venue sites
Apart from the actual Women's College World Series, which will be held once again in Oklahoma City at Devon Park, the venue sites for the regional and super regional rounds of te NCAA Softball Tournament are unknown going into Sunday's bracket reveal sow.
The reasoning behind this is that the top 16 teams selected by the NCAA Selection Committee are rewarded with hosting a regional round, and the top eight teams left in the bracket following the regional round are rewarded with hosting a super regional round.
