NCAA Softball Tournament schedule today: Friday's regional times, TV channels

It's been five days since 64 different Division I softball teams learned their paths — and what it would take — to get to Oklahoma City and the Women’s College World Series to win an NCAA Softball Tournament national championship title.

So, without further ado, let the postseason commence.

Kicking off Friday's slate of regional games is Florida A&M vs. No. 6 seed Florida in the Gainesville Regional at 11 a.m. ET. Alabama, which earned its first No. 1 overall seed since 2010, takes the diamond in the fourth game of the afternoon against USC Upstate.

Defending national champion Texas, which defeated the Crimson Tide in the SEC Tournament championship game, is the No. 2 seed and will look to advance to the Super Regionals with Teagan Kavan in the circle and Katie Stewart and Reese Atwood at the plate.

The SEC has 13 teams in the 64-team field, with nine teams among the top-16 national seeds that get to host a regional. The Big Ten, ACC and Big 12 all earned seven teams in the field each.

So which teams will earn a win on Friday to advance in the winner's bracket of the 16 different regional sites, and who will face double-elimination on Saturday? Will any national seeds be upset on Day 1 of the postseason? All those questions will be answered shortly.

ESPN's family of networks — ESPN2, ESPNU, SEC Network and ACC Network — will broadcast a majority of Friday's NCAA Softball Tournament regional games, including USC Upstate vs. (1) Alabama and Binghamton vs. (3) Oklahoma. Streaming options for those games include the ESPN app (with a TV login) and Fubo, which carries the ESPN family of networks and offers a free trial to new subscribers.

For the 16 other regional games on Friday's docket — which includes Wagner vs. (2) Texas and South Dakota vs. (4) Nebraska, among others — they will be streamed exclusively on ESPN+, ESPN's subscription streaming service.
