Behind the masterful right arm of NiJaree Canady, Texas Tech will begin its 2026 NCAA Tournament journey with its first game in the Lubbock Regional against Marist on Friday, May 15 at Tracy Sellers Field.

The Red Raiders finished the regular season with a 52-6 record, though they fell to Arizona State 4-0 in the Big 12 tournament championship game. Marist, meanwhile, is appearing in the NCAA tournament for the third time in the past four years. The Red Foxes are 37-19 and won the Metro Atlantic Athletic Association tournament.

Texas Tech vs Marist softball prediction

Texas Tech 8, Marist 0

The Red Foxes have done well to make it back to the NCAA Tournament, but they simply won’t have an answer for Canady and a potent lineup with four batters hitting better than .430 this season, led by Kaitlyn Terry at .471.
