Ehsan KassimTexas football added a major playmaker to its 2027 recruiting class on Friday, May 15.
Four-star tight end Brock Williams committed live on the Pat McAfee Show to the Longhorns over Georgia, Ohio State and other top-tier contenders.
"I have had in my mind where I wanted to go for the past few weeks," Williams said of his commitment. "You cannot go wrong with coach [Steve Sarkisian], especially the offense he's putting you in. You're going to have top-of-the-line quarterbacks, the best quarterbacks in the country, so that's huge for me, as well."
According to 247Sports Composite Rankings, Williams ranks as the No. 79 overall prospect in the 2027 class. The site ranks him as the No. 4 tight end prospect and the No. 5 player out of Illinois.
The Libertyville High (Libertyville, Illinois) product is the second tight-end commit in Texas' class and the 11th overall commit. He joins a class that also features five-star receiver Easton Royal and three-star tight end JT Geraci.
After initially announcing he would commit in December 2025, Williams delayed his decision. He most recently visited Austin, Texas, for Junior Day on Jan. 24.
As a sophomore, Williams broke out with a 35-catch, 608-yard and seven-touchdown season in 2024. He followed that up with 44 catches for 596 yards and 11 scores as a junior in 2025, while also adding a kickoff return and punt return for touchdowns.
He is a multi-sport athlete who also plays baseball for Libertyville.
Andrew Ivins compared Williams to former Ohio State tight end Max Klare, who was taken in the second round of the 2026 NFL Draft with the 61st overall pick by the Los Angeles Rams.
