Carmelo Anthony: 'I always feel like it's something' with ref Tony Brothers

New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony said Saturday that he didn't understand his ejection from Friday's game against the Boston Celtics but suggested that a curious history with referee Tony Brothers may have played a role.

"I always feel like it's something (with Brothers)," Anthony said on Saturday prior to the Knicks' loss to the Toronto Raptors. "I don't want to say it's personal, but I always feel like it's something."

Anthony was ejected after picking up two quick technical fouls in Friday night's game. Brothers called Anthony for his first technical after a loose ball foul with 4:43 left in the first half. Anthony apparently kept arguing the first technical when he was assessed with the second one.

Brothers said he issued the technicals due to "bad language," and he denied having any sort of personal history with Anthony.

Anthony's wife LaLa came to her husband's defense.

A day later Anthony, who didn't exactly deny his wife's tweets, was still dumbfounded.

"One, I don't feel I said anything on getting a tech, and two - getting ejected," Anthony said. "There's nothing for me to say to him. It ain't personal with me from my end. He's a ref. I play. I'll keep my mouth shut next time."
