NBA playoff bracket, scores, schedule, odds for conference semifinals

May 4, 2026Updated May 6, 2026, 12:00 a.m. ET

The first round of the 2026 NBA Playoffs is now complete, and the action moves to the conference semifinals with two games tipping off Monday, May 4 and two on Tuesday, May 5.

The top-seed Detroit Pistons hosted their Central Division rival in Game 1 Tuesday after each team needed seven games to close out their first-round series. The Pistons jumped on the Cavs early before Cleveland made a late run, but Detroit was able to regroup to cement the opening win.

In the Western Conference, LeBron James and the No. 4 seed Los Angeles Lakers traveled to Oklahoma City for a matchup with the defending champion Thunder. OKC secured the No. 1 overall seed throughout the NBA playoffs played like it Monday, pulling away from the Lakers in the fourth quarter for an 18-point win.

On Monday, the New York torched the Philadelphia 76ers, winning by 39 points in the opener of that series, though the Knicks had two extra days rest after closing out the Atlanta Hawks in six games compared to their Atlantic Division rivals. The Sixers had fought back from a 3-1 series deficit to the Celtics before eliminating them in Game 7 in Boston May 3.

The Western Conference semifinals began with a game in San Antonio as Defensive Player of the Year Victor Wembanyama and the No. 2 seed Spurs hosted the No. 6 seed Minnesota Timberwolves. Wembanyama broke the NBA record for most blocks in a playoff game and recorded a triple-double, but it wasn't enough, as Anthony Edwards returned to help Minnesota steal Game 1 on the road.
