The first name has surfaced for the Atlanta Falcons general manager vacancy. According to a report from NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, the team has requested an interview with Chicago Bears assistant general manager Ian Cunningham.

"Cunningham has been a finalist for multiple GM jobs in recent years," Pelissero wrote on social media. "Bears GM Ryan Poles played at BC with Matt Ryan, who's widely expected to be ATL's new football president."

The Bears finished first in the NFC North this season at 11-6, and it has a lot to do with their terrific offseason. Chicago revamped its offensive line, which included signing former Falcons center Drew Dalman in free agency. Dalman went on to make his first career Pro Bowl this season.

Cunningham joined the Bears in the assistant GM role back in 2022. Prior to that, he spent five years with the Philadelphia Eagles (2017-2021), serving as director of player personnel in 2021.

The Falcons have already showed interest in three head coaching candidates as they look to replace Raheem Morris. Former Browns coach Kevin Stefanski and Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak are among the names Atlanta is expected to meet with.
