Trevor Lawrence's 'haircut' actually a wig in Jaguars' NFL schedule release video

Scissor me timbers!

The NFL schedule release offers a glimpse into the upcoming season, with social media teams across the league putting together hilarious – and sometimes daring – videos to announce their respective 17-game slate to the NFL world.

This season, you can file the Jacksonville Jaguars' schedule release video under "daring."

Featuring their star passer in the barber's chair, Trevor Lawrence gets his ears lowered as the 2021 No. 1 pick debuted a (seemingly) new haircut, trading his signature flowing mane for something a bit more late 2000s. But – there's a small catch.

"Man, I've been wanting this cut for a long time," Lawrence says as the haircut comes to a close.

Jacksonville later posted a message assuring fans that the video wasn't crafted by AI.

"AI could never," the page posted with a picture of Lawrence's new 'do.

The Jacksonville social media team continued to reaffirm Lawrence's new haircut with a picture of the passer from practice, in which Lawrence's hair seems lopped off.

Even so, there had been plenty of speculation that Lawrence did not actually cut his hair. Some have noted he was reluctant to actually touch his locks – or run his fingers through them – in the schedule release video, an indication his long, golden locks may have been hidden underneath a wig.

Jacksonville's social media squad later admitted that the Lawrence video was a farce, and that Lawrence's flow remains intact.

"I've just gotten so used to it like this," Lawrence said, adding that his wife, Marissa, doesn't want him to cut his hair.

The passer added that he's not actively considered cutting his hair, and that it's easier for him to simply keep the style with which he's become synonymous.

The Jaguars didn't cut any corners en route to their dazzling 13-4 record in 2025. A step forward from their quarterback helped secure the AFC South, as Lawrence finished with a career-high in touchdown passes (29) in his first season partnered with head coach Liam Coen.

Even with questions about whether Lawrence actually has a new look, he and the Jags would gladly trade his golden locks for the silver of the Lombardi Trophy come next February.
