The NFL playoffs are here and there's plenty of action ahead before we can crown our Super Bowl champion.

Kicking off with the wild-card round on Saturday is intriguing matchup between the Los Angeles Rams and the Carolina Panthers. The Panthers eked into the postseason but have the luxury of hosting a playoff game as the NFC South winner despite sporting a sub-.500 record. Meanwhile, thanks to Matthew Stafford's MVP-caliber season, the visitors are legitimate Super Bowl contenders.

Later on Saturday, NFC North rivals meet again as the Chicago Bears host the Green Bay Packers. On Sunday, a tripleheader of matchups takes place with the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles sandwiched in the middle of the action when they face a familiar foe in the San Francisco 49ers.

The wild-card round action wraps up on "Monday Night Football": the AFC North champion Pittsburgh Steelers face a dangerous Houston Texans squad. The Texans come into this game winners of nine straight.
