NHL conference finals start date: When they begin, full schedule, matchups
Mike BrehmThe final team in the NHL playoffs' Eastern Conference finals has been determined.
The Montreal Canadiens overcame a blown 2-0 lead to get past the Buffalo Sabres 3-2 in overtime and will face the Carolina Hurricanes in the next round. That series will open on Thursday, May 21, and be the Hurricanes' first action since they completed their sweep of the Philadelphia Flyers on May 9.
But first up is the Western Conference finals. It will open on Wednesday, May 20 with the Colorado Avalanche hosting the Vegas Golden Knights.
