In June 2006, Rod Brind’Amour hoisted the Stanley Cup — the first player to touch hockey’s Holy Grail that night — as captain of the Carolina Hurricanes.

In June 2026, he hoisted it again — after every player had his turn — as coach of the Hurricanes.

The first touch this time went to Jordan Staal, the Carolina captain who had six goals in the Stanley Cup Final and who at nearly 38 became the oldest winner of the Conn Smythe Trophy as MVP of the playoffs.

For Hurricanes fans celebrating the franchise’s second Stanley Cup, USA TODAY Sports has crafted a full-page commemorative page print. It features the giant headline PERFECT STORM! and a dazzling picture of Staal exhaulting after receiving the Cup from NHL commissioner Gary Bettman.

Adorn your wall with a commemorative page print from USA TODAY Sports celebrating the Carolina Hurricanes' 2026 Stanley Cup championship.
