Olympic gold medalist track star Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone announced Thursday, Jan. 22, that she is expecting her first child with husband Andre Levrone Jr.

The couple, who married in 2022, made the announcement on Instagram.

"Made a human with my favorite human," McLaughlin-Levrone wrote in the caption. "Oh, how we have prayed for you… and the Lord has answered!! You are our greatest blessing and are already so loved. We are eagerly waiting to meet you! 🫶🏽🤍 Cool parents loading…"

McLaughlin-Levrone is the world record holder in the 400-meter hurdles and put the rest of the world on notice when she competed in the 400 meters at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo in September.

In the semifinal, McLaughlin-Levrone ran 48.70, breaking the American record in the event, and she improved in the final, taking home the gold medal with a time of 47.78, the second-fastest time in history. McLaughlin-Levrone will have time to gear up for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles as there are no global outdoor athletic championships in track and field in 2026.

McLaughlin-Levrone is a four-time Olympic gold medalist, taking the 400-meter hurdles at the 2020 Tokyo and 2024 Paris Games. She was also part of the women's 4 × 400 meters relay at both of those events.
