Tiger Woods arrested for DUI after rollover car crash in Florida

Tiger Woods has been arrested in connection with a rollover car accident on Friday, March 27 in Jupiter Island according to the Martin County Sherriff's Office.
Sheriff John Budensiek announced Woods has been charged with DUI with property damage and refusal to submit to a lawful test in a press conference held at 5 p.m.
Budensiek said there was no indication of alcohol involved in the accident. He said Woods blew "triple zeroes" on the breathalyzer but refused to submit to urinalysis at the jail.

"Our DUI investigators came to the scene and Mr. Woods did exemplify signs of impairment," Budensiek said. "Of course he did explain the injuries and surgeries that he had.
"We did take that into account, but they did do some in-depth roadside tests and when it was determined he was placed under arrest and taken to the Martin County Jail."
Budensiek said no one was injured in the crash, including the other involved driver, who was driving a pickup truck that was pulling a pressure washer cleaner.

The crash, which occurred in Martin County in the town where he lives, happened just after 2 p.m. on March 27. The incident is under investigation.

Woods, who underwent multiple surgeries in 2025 to address back and Achilles injuries, has been attempting to resume his professional playing career in recent weeks.
He returned from injury to play for Jupiter Links Golf Club in Game 2 of the TGL Finals on Tuesday, March 24 at the SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens.

After Jupiter Links' loss, Woods opened up about the status of his rehabilitation and attempts to play in the 2026 Masters Tournament, which will be held April 9–12 at Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia.
"As I said, I've been trying," Woods said. "Just this body is … it doesn't recover like it did when it was 24, 25. It doesn't mean I'm not trying. I've been trying for a while. I've had a couple bad injuries here over the past years that I've had to fight through and it's taken some time.
"But I keep trying. I want to play. I love the tournament."
Where did Tiger Woods crash?
The crash occurred in the 200 block of South Beach Road in Jupiter Island, a stretch of land between the Indian River and the Atlantic Ocean near the Martin and Palm Beach county border in South Florida. Woods has lived on Jupiter Island since 2007.
Woods nearly lost his leg in a rollover crash in 2021 in California and was in a single-car crash backing out of his driveway at his Orlando-area home in 2009. Woods also was arrested in 2017 on charges of driving under the influence in Jupiter.
