  • The final round of the Cadillac Championship at Trump National Doral was delayed due to rain.
  • Golfers teed off in threesomes from the first and 10th tees, with the first group starting at 9:30 a.m.
  • President Donald Trump is on the premises, resulting in heightened security around the resort.

DORAL — The start of the final round of the Cadillac Championship at Trump National Doral was delayed by two hours because of rain.

Golfers teed off at 9:30 a.m. in threesomes from the 1st and 10th tees. The final group of leader Cameron Young (-15), Scottie Scheffler (-9) and Si Woo Kim is schedule to tee off at 11:42 a.m..

Times were moved up May 2 because of the forecast with the first group schedule to start at 7:30 a.m. in hopes of crowning a champion on May 3. With the delay, and heavier rain expected late in the afternoon, the Tour is hoping not to be forced to extend the tournament by a day.

With President Donald Trump on the premises, security around the resort, and especially Blue Monster course, is very tight. Trump arrived after the third round had been competed, walking through the lobby of the hotel as guests congregated to get a glimpse and photos of the president.

With his flight scheduled to leave Miami for Washington D.C. at 8:30 p.m. May 3, Trump still is expected to attend the tournament.

Young, from Palm Beach Gardens, is seeking his third PGA Tour win, second this season to go along with The Players Championship.
