Victoria HernandezAlex Morgan is preparing for a hat trick ... of children!
The soccer icon posted an Instagram video on Sunday, May 10 of her family on the beach to make the announcement that she is expecting her third child. The clip shows an iPhone in the sand recording the scene of her walking away from the camera hand-in-hand with her 6-year-old daughter, Charlie, who is holding hands with Morgan's husband, Servando Carrasco, on her other side. Carrasco is holding the couple's 1-year-old son, Enzo, on his shoulder. Morgan turns to reveal her pregnant belly, which Charlie caresses, and then Carrasco leans in for a kiss.
"Mother’s Day feeling extra special this year," Morgan wrote in the caption. "Excited to welcome baby #3 this Fall."
The soccer community, including Abby Wambach, Mallory Swanson, Kelley O'Hara, Lynn Williams, Julie Foudy and the official accounts for the NWSL and San Diego Wave FC, sent the two-time World Cup winner well wishes in the comments.
"This is amazing. The whole thing. The video the family and all the babies!!!!!!" Wambach, who made history with Morgan on the USWNT, wrote. "So happy for you all. Congrats Momma."
Morgan retired from professional soccer in 2024 along with an announcement that she was pregnant with her second child. She left the game as the fifth-highest goal scorer in USWNT history. She led the charge against U.S. Soccer to demand that the women's team be paid equally as the men. Throughout her career, she also advocated for protections for athletes who are parents. She was on the bargaining committee for the 2024 NWSL Collective Bargaining Agreement, which included provisions like allowing children to travel with parents.
