Alexa Melton says Christian Pulisic 'not a cheater' after social media comments
Seth VertelneyAlexa Melton said Christian Pulisic is "not a cheater" following widespread speculation about the couple and comments she made on Instagram.
Melton, a professional golfer, and Pulisic, the U.S. men's national soccer team star, went public with their relationship in 2024. Melton featured prominently in Pulisic's documentary series on Paramount+ but fans are now wondering about the couple's status since they deleted photos of each other on social media.
In a series of comments under one of Melton's Instagram posts Tuesday, April 7, she insinuated the pair had split and Pulisic had joined the private, membership-based dating app Raya before their break-up.
"Mans was on raya before it even ended," Melton said in response to a comment saying, "This generational fumble will be studied for years to come."
"guess not fearing God enough," she said in another comment, following it up with, "How many likes to post his raya profile?"

On Thursday, April 9, Melton posted a statement on her Instagram Story that attempted to calm some of the storm around her previous comments.
"I've made some comments on a private matter and it's been taken out of context," she said. "I received false info. He is not a cheater. Any narrative beyond that is not mine. Out of respect for Christian's any my privacy, I will not speak further regarding this matter."
Pulisic has not addressed Melton’s comments and his agency did not respond to USA TODAY Sports' request for comment earlier this week.
As the 2026 World Cup draws near, Pulisic and his dating life have been in the spotlight. In December, he denied an online rumor that he was dating actress Sydney Sweeney.
