USMNT striker Folarin Balogun addresses Monaco exit rumors

Updated May 15, 2026, 11:40 a.m. ET

U.S. men's national team striker Folarin Balogun has spoken out amid rumors he could leave AS Monaco this summer after three years with the French club.

After an inconsistent first two seasons at Monaco, the USMNT striker has improved massively this season with 19 goals in 42 matches across all competitions.

According to L'Équipe, that has led to interest from several Premier League clubs. Balogun could be set to return to England after coming up through Arsenal's academy.

In a recent press conference, the 24-year-old addressed the topic of his potential departure from Stade Louis II.

"I think the most important thing for me is just to focus on the game against Strasbourg," said Balogun ahead of Monaco's season finale on Sunday.

"And then, after, of course, as you said, I have the World Cup, and then we'll see what happens after the World Cup.

"But I don't have any information or any news on that now. I just try to stay focused for the rest of the season."

Balogun made a permanent move to Monaco after an impressive loan spell at Stade de Reims in 2022-23.

With the World Cup commencing in just four weeks, Balogun hopes to play a pivotal role on the front line for the U.S. as the squad looks to impress on home soil.
