April 14, 2026, 2:05 p.m. ET

FIFA president Gianni Infantino continued his close relationship with Donald Trump over the weekend, joining the U.S. president in Miami for UFC 327.

Ahead of the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada, Infantino has been spotted alongside Trump on numerous occasions both in the U.S. and abroad.

Infantino also awarded Trump the inagural FIFA Peace Prize at the World Cup draw in December.

The FIFA president posted a series of photos on Instagram of the mixed martial arts fight in Miami on Saturday, April 11.

"It was a pleasure to attend UFC 327 in Miami, a city that will also play a key role in just two months time, at the FIFA World Cup 2026 in [the U.S., Mexico and Canada]," he said. "Great sporting occasions like this show how events can unite fans and create unforgettable moments.

"I was also pleased to meet the President of the United States Donald J. Trump, the United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio and experience the incredible atmosphere in Miami, which will soon welcome supporters from around the world for football’s greatest stage."

In addition to Trump and Rubio, Infantino was also photographed with UFC president Dana White, musician Vanilla Ice, and NFL legends Michael Irvin and Chad Johnson.

Miami is set to host seven matches at Hard Rock Stadium in the 2026 World Cup.

The South Florida city will see four group-stage fixtures, a Round of 32 game, a quarterfinal tie and the third-place match.
