The 2026 FIFA World Cup is less than two months away, with 48 teams vying to become world champion.

This year's tournament in North America is the first to feature 48 teams – up from 32 – with matches being held in the United States, Canada and Mexico, the first time since 2002 that the World Cup has featured co-hosts.

Mexico hosts the World Cup opener on June 11 against South Africa at the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City, while the final is scheduled for July 19 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Argentina is the defending world champion, defeating France in an epic 2022 final, and will be looking to become the first back-to-back World Cup winners since Brazil in 1958 and 1962.
