2026 Cape Verde World Cup roster: Complete 26-man team
Cape Verde is set to debut at the World Cup this summer and has announced its squad that will take on a daunting Group H that also features Spain, Uruguay and Saudi Arabia.
Bubista, a former Cape Verde defender who now manages the team, has called in a familiar group to fans who watched the Blue Sharks shock Cameroon and other teams in their African qualification group to earn a place in North America.
Philadelphia-born goalkeeper CJ dos Santos was cleared by FIFA to switch from representing the United States, and the San Diego FC goalkeeper now is eligible to play at the World Cup — though he'll have to win the starting job from long-time shot-stopper Vozinha.
Dos Santos is joined on the roster by fellow MLS player Steven Moreira, a France-born defender who has represented Cape Verde since 2023. Long-time MLS fans will also recognize the name of midfielder Jamiro Monteiro, who played in Philadelphia and San Jose before returning to the Netherlands.

Are World Cup tickets available on the resale market?
According to FIFA, its marketplace "enables fans who can no longer attend matches to sell their tickets to other fans in a secure and authorized environment, safeguarding against invalid or unauthorized resale."
Of course, the marketplace will be used not just by fans who can no longer attend matches, but also those looking to make a profit on high-demand games.
The FIFA resale marketplace opened on Thursday, April 2.
