2026 South Africa World Cup roster: Complete 26-man team

South Africa is returning to the World Cup for the first time since hosting in 2010, and manager Hugo Broos has named a largely domestic-based side ahead of the tournament opener against Mexico.

Seven of the 26 players named to the roster play abroad, including star Burnley forward Lyle Foster and experienced midfielder Yaya Sithole, who plays in Portugal.

Fans in North America likely recognize the name of center back Mbekezeli Mbokazi, who has made an instant impact since joining the Chicago Fire. More of a surprise is the inclusion of Philadelphia Union center back Olwethu Makhanya, who is yet to make his senior national team debut but made Broos' final list.
