Team Canada World Cup schedule: Who will Canadians face in group?

After Canada ended a 36-year World Cup drought four years ago, they're back as co-hosts of soccer's biggest event looking to make history on home turf.

The Canadians have never won a game at the World Cup, but their placement in Group B for the 2026 group stages presents a prime opportunity to perhaps even advance to the knockout stages for the first time. While Switzerland is the Group B favorite, Canada is ranked ahead of its other two opponents – Bosnia and Herzegovina and Qatar – in the FIFA world rankings.

Jonathan David, a striker for Juventus, gives Canada an elite scoring threat, but it recently lost attacker Marcelo Flores to an ACL injury. The status of Canadian captain Alphonso Davies also remains in doubt after he suffered a hamstring injury playing for Bayern Munich in the Champions League semifinals.
