It's officially match day in Atlanta, and soon thousands of soccer fans will head to the Atlanta Stadium (Mercedes-Benz Stadium) to watch tournament-favorites Spain take on tournament-firsts Cape Verde in the FIFA 2026 World Cup.

Years of preparations in the city of Atlanta have led to this day, but two things that haven't changed ahead of the international tournament is what fans will find inside the train stations and stadium.

Visitors and locals alike may be surprised by the low prices of food on the menu in Mercedes-Benz, where officials have decided to keep the pricing the same as any Atlanta Falcons or Atlanta United game. Public transportation will also cost the same as any other day in Atlanta.

What are concession prices in Mercedes-Benz Stadium?

In a recent interview with WSB-TV, Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank said the price of food inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium (the Atlanta Stadium) will remain the same price as any other event. Blank is also the owner of Atlanta's MLS team Atlanta United, and the major benefactor behind the new Arthur M. Blank U.S. Soccer National Training Center which opened earlier this year just south of Atlanta as the new home of soccer in America.

The stadium is known for its "fan-friendly" food pricing, where items like a hotdog are sold for $2, and Coke products come with unlimited refills after the initial $2 price.

A spokesperson for Mercedes-Benz Stadium confirmed all vendors in the venue will keep their normal pricing, and shared some of the food highlights and costs with USA TODAY:

  • Pizza slice: $3
  • Bottled water: $3
  • Popcorn: $2
  • Soft Pretzel: $3
  • Cheeseburger: $5
  • French Fries: $3
  • Chicken Tender basket with Fries: $6
  • Draught Beer: $5

The stadium also offers specialty foods that can come at a higher price, like mixed drinks or Bruster's ice cream, but a family could easily keep their food bill low by sticking to the essentials. A full venue menu and pricing can be found on the Mercedes-Benz website.

"Fans give us their energy, their time, their passion, their resources, their families, whatever it may be, and we need to honor that in the truest sense of the word, whatever we can," Blank said in the interview.

MARTA passes will keep their same price for World Cup

The MARTA train and bus system, Atlanta's public transportation, will also not raise prices for their normal passes during the World Cup.

A Breeze pass, which can be purchased online ahead of match day, will cost $2.50 one way to Mercedes-Benz, no different than any other day in Atlanta.

There are multiple MARTA stations near the stadium, including the newly-named Sports, Entertainment, and Convention District Station just steps away from Mercedes-Benz, the Georgia World Congress Center, State Farm Arena, Centennial Yards, the College Football Hall of Fame, the CNN Center, Centennial Park, the Georgia Aquarium and the World of Coca-Cola.

Spectators hoping to use MARTA for a match day can use a physical bank card, a mobile wallet, a virtual Breeze card, a physical Breeze card or cash to pay for their ride at any MARTA station.

“MARTA will be the easiest and most affordable way to get to the matches and to major fan events,” Interim General Manager and CEO Jonathan Hunt said in a statement to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “We’re urging all supporters of the beautiful game to let MARTA drive them to the World Cup festivities this summer.”

When are the World Cup matches in Atlanta?

Atlanta Stadium will host five group stage matches, a round of 32 match, a round of 16 match and one of the tournament's semifinal match.
