England star Harry Kane said the stirring World Cup singalong to Oasis' "Wonderwall" after the the team's 4-2 win over Croatia at AT&T Stadium was among the top memories of his career

"That was one of my favorite moments ever in an England shirt," Kane told the national team's official podcast. "I know it's just the first game and we're not getting carried away but that emotional connection with the fans.

"We see how much it means to them and they see how much it means to us."

Kane, England's all-time leading scorer with 81 goals, netted two in the Three Lions' win in Arlington, Texas, some measure of revenge against the Croatia team that eliminated England in the 2018 World Cup semifinals.

After the game, England's players joined with the crowd in singing "Wonderwall" and members of the team – including Kane – were visibly emotional during the rendition of Oasis' 1995 song.

England is back in action against Ghana on Tuesday, June 23 and can clinch a spot in the Round of 32 with a victory at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts.

Kane tied the national team record for career World Cup goals (10) with his brace against Croatia and has been one of the planet's most prolific goal-scorers since bursting onto the scene with Tottenham more than a decade ago. This is his third World Cup, helping England finish fourth in 2018 and took the team to the quarterfinals in 2022.

Now 32 years old, Kane was the Bundesliga's top scorer in each of his first three seasons since joining Bayern Munich, finishing with 36 goals in the 2025-26 league campaign.
