The intensity at the 2026 World Cup will only increase as teams adopt a "survive-and-advance" mentality for the knockout rounds.

The largest-ever World Cup field of 48 teams has been whittled down to the round of 32, which kicked off Sunday, June 28.

Soccer fans will be treated to three games a day over a five-day span to get to the next round, beginning on Saturday, July 4.

Who will reign as this year's World Cup champions? The road to the July 19 final in East Rutherford, N.J., continues.
